Gone are the days when life and opportunity wouldn't be fair to you, if you were not very lucky to be born with a silver spoon. There is no better time to be alive on earth than today because it is pretty much a level field for all. With the magic wand of digital media available to all of us today one need not be very big, very wealthy, very popular or very powerful to make an impact. All you need is a will, a sincere intent to benefit the society at large and you can start your journey right now, right from where you are. Our journey started in 2009 as a first-generation Doctor couple, Dr Arvind, had been practising as a visiting consultant at various polyclinics for almost about 6 years and Dr. Brahmi had only one year of experience after the medical college. What started as a modest set up in 2009 grew today to be one of the most well-equipped ENT and eye hospitals in the suburbs of Mumbai. Our focus has always been relentless training of ourselves and our team, training not only in the clinical field but also in the wider perspectives of our capabilities and thinking.
Opening ourselves to non conventional subjects never taught in the medical school like # Patient - centric processes and systems # Sensitising all staff towards patient experiences and empathy # Making Lean systems # and last but not the least leveraging the digital media and various platforms to bridge the knowledge gap in the society, for healthcare awareness in ENT and Eye.
Sometimes we pondered "How did we survive in this cut-throat competition?". We realised our focus has always been to create more value for all the stakeholders, more values for our team members, for our employees who are our backbone and more and more value for our patients and our society at large. Our clients or audience today or the people who benefit from our knowledge are not only the ones who visit us but also a large number of people all over the world who are sitting with a smartphone in their hands and the best part is they don't have to pay anything to access this information. When we use the digital platform our stature doesn't matter if we have a sincere intent to share some information about which we feel passionate about we are going to be welcomed everywhere.
Yes, there were huddles on the way. # sometimes technical know-how had to be acquired # sometimes a right channel had to be found # sometimes rebuke of those who thought that we were very unconventional # and sometimes even self-doubt whether we were right investing time and money in making these digital content
Just believe in yourself, every heart vibrates to that iron string. One experiment we did this year was to start with our outreach camps.
We have very lovingly named it our "Shruti Project". It's something very close to our heart and something we feel very passionate about. What we do here is, we have our telemedicine devices which can take a very high-resolution photograph of the eardrum, we have dedicatedly trained healthcare workers who can screen the population with these devices and the images become available to our expert doctors stationed inside the hospital. Our expert doctors from inside the hospital can now access online all the images along with the biometric information and the clinical history of the people who are screened. Our doctors then guide the on-field staff whether which of these people need an OPD consultation or reference.
This is only the beginning. We are learning and growing with the experience all along.
In today's era, it only makes sense that we harness the power of digital media to empower our society with knowledge that can benefit all of us.
Its time all healthcare institutions Small or big get Digitally Smart..
